From the 13th-15th October, our wider Newfrontiers family hosted an online version of the annual Global conference. Usually a connection point for apostolic teams working around the world, this year featured three sessions open to anyone and everyone.
Session 1 saw Andrew Wilson and Mbonisi Malaba ask guest speaker Mark Sayers how we can begin to analyse the complex world around us, and understand the disruption now facing post-Christian culture. The conversation concludes by asking how the global church can rise to this cultural moment, and offer the truest narrative of all.
Session 2 featured some fantastic international worship and highlights from work across Newfrontiers to support those in the developing world affected by COVID-19. Mark Sayers also brought a powerful message entitled “We may not have a plan, but we have the person of Jesus” exploring how the difficulty of this moment contains an opportunity. Our weakness pushes us back to Christ, moving us into a renewal dynamic, in which, guided by Word and Spirit, a new future awaits.
In the final session, we heard David Devenish speak on “Lessons from Jesus on Kingdom Growth”; using Jesus’ parables to remind us of the kingdom principle of small beginnings that bring lasting transformation. David challenged us to be humble, Christ-like leaders with a mission to make disciples wherever we are.
All three sessions are now available to watch again by clicking here – both as a great encouragement to each of us and as a great example of everything going on in our wider family of churches.
