During our Saturday Evening meeting, as we kicked off the Catalyst Festival 2018 together, Carole Wilthew brought a powerful prophetic word about how the love and goodness of God is displayed in the Scriptures.
What does God’s love and goodness look like? Here are a few examples from His Word that tell us just what the love and goodness of God is like…
God’s love is steadfast and unchanging.
It is indescribable, inescapable, immeasurable and undeniable.
It is high, wide, deep and long.
The love of God casts out fear, causes sin to be forgiven, changes hearts and transforms lives. It’s stronger than death. It defeated the grave. It makes us perfect. It clears our vision. It is higher than the heavens, and it is deeper than the oceans. It loves the unlovely and it chooses the foolish and it strengthens the weak.
The love of God puts a new song in our hearts, it lights up our path, it is a rock beneath our feet. It is demonstrated at the cross, and it is powerful to save. The love of God means that the sick can be healed, the dead can be raised, the broken-hearted can be made whole. Through his love, sinners become children, orphans find families, widows are taken care of, broken marriages are restored, the depressed can find joy, the hurting find comfort, and the hopeless find hope.
Nothing can separate us from the unfailing love of God…and he loves you! He loves you!
With such goodness and love held out to us, it’s no surprise that God then encouraged us with a prophetic word about the banquet of joy, the banquet of celebration, that He has laid out for us to feast upon. The dancing God, the one who unleashes freedom and healing, is amongst us; unlocking joy, laughter and fun even in the midst of the serious stuff that many of us have going on. He’s a good God, and we’re so excited for everything He’s doing amongst us and will do amongst us throughout the Festival and beyond!
