Many of you will have seen the news from Pakistan yesterday, where a Christian lady named Asia Bibi was acquitted of blasphemy charges which had seen her held on death row for eight years. The ruling has seen a violent response from hardliners who support strong blasphemy laws in the country. Our friends Pervez and Jeremiah, leaders in the church there, have sent us the following request for prayer:

Please pray for Pakistani Christians. We are in great danger. We have received threats. Roads are blocked and church buildings are sealed for security reasons. Mobile signal comes and goes. I have called all of our leaders and asked them to stay low. We have left our houses and are in one of our friend’s houses. I was suggested to leave the city and was stuck for over 10 hours on the motorway, but eventually had to come back to Rawalpindi taking an alternative road to a friends house where Mom and Dad are. Christian homes, colonies, church buildings are in great threat according to the district government.

Please continue praying for our family and church.

Let’s stand in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Pakistan; praying for peace, for comfort, and for protection.
